The Haig Visits Cadillac
Walter Hagen had the opportunity to stop by one of his old haunts a
month ago, as he visited Pilgrim's Village in Cadillac. It was here that The
Haig spent many a wonderful summer away from the crowded and busy world
of suburban Detroit. It was also here that he penned his biography, "The
Walter Hagen Story". Join our host Bill Shelton, "The Haig" and guests
Steve Knaisel Ron Anderson and Carol Potter from Cadillac as they
recall their rememberances of Walter Hagen

"The Haig" Golf Tournament
Walter Hagen returned to Traverse City in late June to play in "The
Haig" golf tournament. While in town, he had a wonderful time bumping into a
number of his friends and pals. "The Haig" was a hickory club, gutty
ball tournament that brought out Traverse City's finest. Join host, Bill
Shelton, emcee, Jim McIntyre, reporter Jennie McCafferty and many of
"The Haig's" friends, including Arnold Palmer, as they recall the special
times that they had with him.

Walter Hagen and the Ryder Cup
Walter Hagen, "The Haig" is excited about the 2004 Ryder Cup and also, that it will take place at Oakland Hills CC. Oakland Hills CC was the site of his first professional golf position after leaving New York. In the second of this seven part series, "The Haig" discusses his friend the Duke of Windsor, the first U.S.Ryder Cup win on "American soil" and the love he had playing for his country. As many of you know, Hagen captained many of the first Ryder Cup teams.

"The Haig" is coming back to Michigan. One of the world's most famous golfers, Walter Hagen, spent most of his adult life in our state. The Michigan Travel TV show is proud to present the first of a series of Walter Hagen shows this year. It will all lead up to next year's Ryder Cup at Oakland Hills. (Walter Hagen is played by Michael McCafferty.)
